Keep Playing — Privacy
Last updated 14 September 2026
Keep Playing is a Safari extension that keeps web video and audio playing after you leave the browser or lock the screen. It does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data. It has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no tracking.
1. Data we collect
None. Keep Playing keeps no record of what you watch and sends nothing to us or to anyone else.
The App Store privacy card for this app is declared as “Data Not Collected”.
2. Why the extension asks for website access
To keep playback alive, Keep Playing has to find the video or audio player on the page you are watching, and it cannot know in advance which site that will be.
All of it happens on your device, while the page is open.
3. Media
Keep Playing does not download, store, re-host or redistribute any media. Playback stays on the site where it started, using the standard Picture in Picture and Media Session web features.
The extension skips advertising shown inside the video player: it mutes the ad, presses the player’s own Skip control as soon as it appears, seeks unskippable ads to their end, and removes overlay and banner units from the page. All of it happens on your device, in the page, and every part can be switched off in settings.
The extension does not circumvent copy protection or paywalls, and performs no network-level filtering.
4. Settings
Your preferences are stored on the device only, in the extension’s local storage and an App Group shared with the app. Deleting the app deletes them with it.
5. Children
Keep Playing is not directed at children under 13 and, collecting no data, processes no information about them.
6. Changes and contact
Any update to this policy will be published on this page with a new date.
